CONNECT, formerly Women's Support Services, is the domestic and sexual violence center that provides direct services to survivors and significant others such as individual and group support, legal and medical advocacy, and provides 24 hour a day crisis response.

CONNECT is also embarking on a new and innovative approach to violence prevention that makes interpersonal violence a public civic issue instead of a private and secretive one. We strive to involve the broader community in the prevention of violence. Through community organizing, coalition building, education, and development of leadership, we are taking action to prevent violence on Martha's Vineyard.

CONNECT continues to be the domestic violence and sexual assault center serving the Island of Martha's Vineyard through:

•EMERGENCY SERVICES - a 24-hour hotline and safehomes
24-hour hotline: 508-696-SAFE (7233)

•DIRECT SERVICES AND ADVOCACY - Crisis and short-term counseling; support groups; medical, legal and court advocacy; information and referral services.

•EDUCATION AND TRAINING - Community education on issues of abuse and violence against women

ALL SERVICES ARE FREE AND CONFIDENTIAL

Domestic Violence is abusive acts within an intimate relationship and can include emotional, physical, and sexual abuse, and destructive acts to threaten you. Sexual assault and sexual abuse refer to rape, incest, attempted rape, unwanted touch or any sexual contact without your consent.

You can be any age, race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, or economic status. Acts of violence, power and control do not discriminate.

IT IS NOT YOUR FAULT.
YOU ARE NOT ALONE.

If you or someone you care about has survived or is living with abuse, there are people who can and want to help.
