Supporting the Work of
Martha's Vineyard Community Services
"Community means strength that joins our strength
to do the work that needs to be done." - Starhawk
In the coming year, Community Services will again play a vital role in the life and health of the Vineyard - providing a wide range of health and human services to the many who turn to us. Our six programs touch the lives of more than 6,000 Islanders and visitors each year. Throughout the agency's long history, the staff of MVCS has helped Vineyarders deal with the problems of living regardless of their ability to pay for service. With the current challenges imposed by State and Federal cutbacks and a diminishing economy, the funds raised have never been more vital in insuring that our staff is able to continue to meet our mission to provide free care to those in need. Just as there are constraints and cutbacks in State and Federal funding for the agency, we are aware that the current economic situation affects both our clients and those of you who give so generously to us. Therefore, we deeply appreciate your contribution.
