A Day of Remembrance and Dedication

Although the original date for the President’s Council brought storms and a postponement, the rescheduled date of August 13thdawned bright and sunny. Together, we welcomed members to our annual President’s Council breakfast event.

President’s Council members contribute $2,500 or more to the Annual Fund which supports unfunded care at MVCS.
President’s Council Chair John Ferguson provided a warm welcome and Julie Fay updated members on programs and progress of the past year. Tom Bennett and Ron Rappaport took to the podium to lead the dedication of a garden bench in memory of our long time and greatly missed friends, Bob Carroll and Pat Gregory.

The silver lining in the cancellation cloud was that the breakfast coincided with the dedication of the newest addition to our campus, the Island Wide Youth Collaborative building, enabling President’s Council members to join the festivities.Just three short months after the ground was broken on the new home for the IWYC, community members gathered around the building for a ribbon-cutting ceremony and a tour of the new facility.

Although the new IWYC building will not be officially occupied until all work inside and out is wrapped up in October, the purpose of the dedication ceremony was to honor MVYouth for their generous grant which made the housing of the IWYC a reality.
