In November, Martha’s Vineyard Hospital (MVH) and Martha’s Vineyard Community Services signed an agreement with two off-Island detox centers to offer Vineyard residents immediate access to detox services.
The agreement became effective January 1, 2017, offering Islanders voluntarily choosing detox services access to Gosnold Inc, located in Falmouth, and Stanley Street Treatment and Resources (SSTAR), located in Fall River. The new opportunity in partnering with SSTARR is that they offer dual-diagnosis treatment, offering individuals with mental health needs and substance use the care they need.
In order to receive access to the services, people seeking treatment are first assessed by the MVH Emergency Department, MVH Substance Use Disorder Team or MVCS Staff.
This agreement is a testament of community collaboration and working together towards a common cause. To read more about this collaboration, visit: Collaboration the key to detox breakthrough on Martha’s Vineyard.
