MVCS Develops New Programming

new

As our mission states, MVCS is always aiming to enhance the lives of those we serve by meeting the comprehensive needs of individuals, families and our community.

As needs change, new programming is developed to help support our clients and community. For example, former Island Counseling Clinician, Dr. Rikki Pashen, recognized that our Island lacked support for Transgender community and spear-headed the development of our Transgender Support Group. Following that, the IWYC and ICC partnered up to create a Drop-In Support Group for Parents/Caregivers of Transgender Youth.

In response to the recent political climate, the Island Wide Youth Collaborative developed a partnership with the Immigration Resource Center of the Community Action Committee of Cape Cod and the Islands to provide legal advice to Islanders. The Immigration Resource Center is held on the first Friday of each month and an immigration attorney is present to assist with legal questions, forms and advice.
